Go Garden State is designed with privacy as a core principle. The app does not require account creation, does not use analytics or advertising SDKs, and does not sell or share your data with third parties.
The following data is stored locally on your device and never transmitted to any server:
The app uses GPS location only in the foreground to detect your travel direction and nearby stations. Location data is ephemeral — it is held in memory during your session, never written to disk, and never transmitted to any server. The app requests foreground-only location permission and does not use background location access.
Error reporting is disabled by default. If you choose to enable it in Settings, anonymous crash reports are sent to our server to help improve the app. These reports include:
Error reports are automatically purged from our server after 90 days. You can disable error reporting at any time in Settings.
Transit schedule and real-time data is sourced from NJ Transit and served through our own API. No information about you is shared with NJ Transit or any other third party. Transit data requests are stateless lookups by station or train number and contain no user-identifying information.
This app does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. Since the app does not require account creation and collects minimal data, it is suitable for users of all ages.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the app and on this page with an updated effective date.
